The Llancloudy Fell Pony Stud were imported in October 2007 when the Feakins family emigrated and relocated from the lowlands in Herefordshire, England to the Northern Tablelands in NSW, Australia. The Fell Pony Society's aim is to foster and keep pure the old breed of pony which has roamed the northern fells for years and to circulate knowledge and general information about the pony breed. The Society deals with the Registration of Ponies, applications for Membership, export matters, produces regular newsletters, lists of ponies for sale and also has a regular calendar of events.

Our tests are carried out in the spirit of offspring coat colour prediction, and for breeding purposes. The procedure is accurate, inexpensive and reliable. Test results are made available within 5-7 days of sample submission.

We now test for several genetic markers that have been found to be strongly linked to the tobiano coat pattern. In 2002, researchers at the University of Kentucky, led by Dr. Samantha Brooks, located a SNP within the KIT gene that is closely linked to the Tobiano pattern. Since then, additional markers have been found within the KIT gene by researchers here at Animal Genetics that we also use to determine Tobiano zygosity. Most recently, researchers at the University of Kentucky discovered a large chromosomal inversion on chromosome 3 near the KIT gene of Tobiano horses. This inversion, which has only been found in Tobiano horses, is believed to disrupt the normal functioning of the KIT gene and cause the Tobiano pattern.

John's training method uses 'horse language' and was being used long, long before it became fashionable to be a 'natural horseman'. Various horse training methods have some things in common. They work on the horses' innate need for submission in a hierarchical order, they take away the horses' flight response and they work on negative reinforcement and domination. Samson is a traditional Irish Gypsy Vanner imported from Cillbara Stud in Cork Ireland. Samson has all the traits of a traditional Vanner, colour, conformation, plenty of hair and of course temperament. We will be breeding Gypsy sport horses with Samson aswell as heavy harness horses and also we'll breed Drum Horses. Samson stands at 14.3hh now and he will mature to at least 15hh. Samson loves to be cuddled and just adores our children asking for there company when they are out playing. He is very inqusitive and very athletic, he loves to jump and kick up he's heels. He should have a wide and powerful chest. His hindquarters should be round and large. He should sport a very thick mane and tail. His feet should be covered with an enormously profuse amount of long hair. This should start behind the knee or hock and fall to the ground. It is known as Feather. Feather can be noted as curly, woolly or straight and silky within the breed. Many prefer straight, silky feather but it is not usually demanded. What "is" demanded, is that there is profuse Feather which covers the hoof."

My passion and dreaming of one day owning my own gypsy started when I stumbled across a live camera of the most beautiful mare I have ever seen giving birth on a live foal web cam. My obsession began that day in 1999.

Samson is a traditional 3 yr old Irish Gypsy Cob imported from Cillbara stud in Cork, Ireland. He is registered with the IPSAS . Samson has good bone, colour, conformation and plenty of hair and his temperament is fantastic. We will be breeding gypsy x's with Samson as well as drum horses which some will become available each season. Samson stands at 14.3 hh now and we expect him to reach around the 15.1 hh mark, he adores children, loves cuddles and is very athletic. Samson has always placed Champion or Reserve Champion in his classes at each show. He was broken to harness as a 2 1/2 yr old and was shown at Sydney Royal in 2009 doing us extremely proud. Welcome to Terror's Creek Gypsy and Drum Horse Stud, a small boutique stud based in South East Queensland, and the cumulation of a decade of dreaming, hard work and not a small amount of luck. The stud is located at Mount Pleasant, just outside Dayboro, a small country town about an hour north from Brisbane, in South East Queensland. The property, named 'Equinity', covers 53 acres, and is bordered by the North Pine River, and still contains a small amount of remnant rainforest, as well as a large dam, covering just over an acre. This property is listed with 'Land For Wildlife', in an effort to achieve balance between the plentiful native wildlife and my own livestock.
